Nationwide Survey, part 4: 500 Democrat, 500 Republican, and 500 Independent Voters
Washington, DC – The Independent Center released the fourth and final installment in a series of exclusive nationwide polling. In this installment, the Independent Center released the results from all three cohorts: 500 Democrats, 500 Republicans, and 500 independent voters. You can view the responses from all three groups to each question side-by-side in the toplines below.
Key takeaways:
All three groups want President Trump and Republicans in Congress to work across the aisle to enact bipartisan policies.

Perhaps the most surprising result: When asked how important it is for the new Trump administration to be successful in "reducing debt/deficit," the support was consistent across party lines:
- 66% of Democrats rated it “very/somewhat important.”
- 67% of independents rated it “very/somewhat important.”
- 81% of Republicans rated it “very/somewhat important.”
In other words, if President Trump and the Republican-led Congress are committed to addressing the debt and deficit, they have willing partners from across the political spectrum.
